Tom Ruley is an artist, illustrator, educator, designer, creative web developer and writer. Trained as a painter and printmaker, his background includes many years in graphic arts and printing. He formerly managed digital graphics departments at Guard Litho, San Mateo, California, and A&a Printers & Lithographers, Menlo Park, California.
An experienced educator, Mr. Ruley has taught college classes and corporate seminars. He worked as a technical writer and illustrator, producing training manuals and product documentation. While with Collabria Inc., San Mateo, California, he designed and wrote user guides, software documentation and developed online customer education programs.
Mr. Ruley cofounded Commerce Kangaroo Inc., Reno, Nevada, where he was Director of Product Development. He designed and built an online catalog system that was used as a supplement to enterprise e-commerce systems by a number of major corporations .
Mr. Ruley was an Instructor in the Technical Arts and Graphics Department of the College of San Mateo, San Mateo, California, from 1997 to 2000, and served on the Technical Art/Graphics Advisory Committee in 1997 and 1998.
Tom Ruley is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art at Cottey College, Nevada, Missouri, where he teaches Digital Art I and II.
Mr. Ruley received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.
